Volcanoes of Costa Rica and Nicaragua

Volcanoes of Costa Rica and Nicaragua

Costa Rica and Nicaragua are Home to a Number of Active Volcanoes- An Exciting Adventure for Eco Travelers

Costa Rica and Nicaragua are well-known for their beaches, rain forests and fascinating wildlife. But these countries are also home to some of the world’s most spectacular volcanoes, which offer an amazing sightseeing experience for nature lovers.

Volcanoes played a huge role in the creation of lower Central America’s landscape. The abundant mineral content produced from centuries of eruptions has made the soil exceptionally rich. This rich soil feeds the dense, lush rainforest, which in turn houses the countless exotic animals that make the area one of the world’s most bio-diverse places.

Costa Rica boasts 67 volcanoes, six of which are currently active. While the active volcanoes are exciting spots to visit, the inactive volcanoes provide some of Costa Rica’s most dramatically beautiful scenery.
